More than 350 standby portable generators sold in the United States and Canada are being recalled after eight injuries, including seven toes amputated and one crushing, according to the US Consumer Product and Safety Commission. Writes about it CBS News.

An unlocked handle on the equipment could pinch the user's fingers to the generator frame while moving the product, resulting in finger amputation and injury, Generac Power Systems said. The Waukesh, Wisconsin-based company received eight reports of injuries associated with the 6500 and 8000 watt Generac portable generators.

According to the company, Generac Power Systems products were purchased online, in major home appliance and household goods stores from June 2013 to June 2021 at prices ranging from $ 790 to $ 1 apiece.

Generators made in the USA and China are powered by gasoline engines, which are used to generate electricity as a backup power source. The generators have two wheels and one U-shaped tilt handle with two grips and a lock for easy handling. Consumers can check information about specific device type, model number and serial number by link.
