Data expert at the Nesta Innovation Fund, Katya Bego, predicts that such “deep fakes” pose a huge threat:

“2019 will be the year when malicious “fake” videos lead to a geopolitical incident. They are becoming increasingly difficult to identify with the naked eye or with special technologies; they are developing very quickly and are becoming simpler and cheaper,” the expert said publication BBC.

Katya Bego does not exclude that in one of these videos any world leader who declares war or propagandizes something can appear.

Gemalto's director of data protection technologies, Jason Hart, envisions that 2019 may become a very problematic year for many large organizations due to advanced cyber attacks using AI.

“A new generation of AI-based malware will infect company systems, remain undetected while gathering information, adapt to its environment and launch a series of tailored attacks designed to destroy an organization from the inside,” Hart commented to the British news corporation.
