New safest cars rating published
The new report of the Road Safety Insurance Institute, where cars were compared according to safety categories, indicated 11 car models, in which no one had died in the past four years.
The list of the safest cars is as follows:
Audi Q7 SUV
Volkswagen (VLKAF) Tiguan two-wheel drive
Toyota Tacoma Double Cab four-wheel drive
Mazda CX-9 two-wheel drive
Audi A6 four-wheel drive
Jeep Cherokee four-wheel drive
BMW 535i
BMW 535xi
Lexus RX 350 two-wheel drive
Lexus CT 200h
Mercedes-Benz M-class SUV
You can pay attention to the fact that the list of many SUVs and virtually no sedans. In fact, this is a question of physics. If two vehicles, both of which deal with crash tests equally well, meet each other in the real world, passengers of a lighter vehicle will suffer more.
The three leaders with the highest mortality rates include Hyundai Accent, Kia Rio and Toyota Scion tC. To determine the mortality rate uses the number of deaths per million registered vehicles.
After a series of studies, the Insurance Institute came to the conclusion that full-size luxury SUVs are the safest vehicles.
