'Like a nuclear bomb': a powerful explosion thundered at a chemical plant in Texas
Authorities announced the evacuation of people from nearby cities within a radius of more than 6 km from the scene of the incident.
At a chemical plant located in the US city of Port Neches in Texas, two explosions occurred in a day, reports RBC.
The first explosion occurred in 1: 00 27 on November. As a result of the incident, three employees of the enterprise were injured. Some houses located a few kilometers from the factory have broken glass.

After 12 hours, a second explosion occurred at the plant. Authorities announced the evacuation of people from nearby cities located within a radius of more than 6 km from the site of the explosion. As reported Reuters, we are talking about at least 60 thousands of people.
According to the Sheriff Jefferson’s department, firefighters continue to extinguish the fire at the plant. The company said the incident was related to a petrochemical plant.

On Twitter, the local fire department posted photos and videos of the second explosion at a plant in Jefferson County.

'Noticed an orange glow'
Some residents of Port Neches said that their windows and even doors were knocked out by a blast wave, writes CNN.
Tyler Sean Dunlap was sleeping when his house began to shake from the explosion.

“I heard and felt my house shake. At first I thought that people were going to burst into us. Then he went to his father's room. It seemed to him that our generator exploded. Soon I noticed an orange glow on the clouds, ”an eyewitness told CNN.

The plant occupies a territory of 88,22 ha, which is approximately 145 km east of Houston. It processes petrochemicals used to produce synthetic rubber and resins, as well as gasoline additives. This plant is located among several other chemical complexes, but their fire did not catch.
