A film about Butch and news about the war: Ukrainians received several Emmys
The 44th annual awards ceremony took place in New York. Emmy Awards for the best news and documentary television programs. Ukrainians received many awards, as well as projects highlighting the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Among the awardees, CNN stands out as the leader, receiving 10 awards in various categories. Vice came in second with nine honors, while The New York Times and CBS each received five and four awards, respectively.
CBS's "Butchie's Lost Souls" won in the Outstanding Screenplay: News category. Field-producer in the film was Ukrainian Sonya Kochmar-Tymoshenko.
“This is a documentary about the mass grave under the church in Bucha. It is about those whose bodies were found dead there, about those who loved them and still love them. And also about those who restored dignity to the murdered,” пишет Sofia.

The British channel Sky News won the International Emmy Award for News for its coverage of the war in Ukraine. This team consists of 12 people, including two Ukrainians: Azad Safarov and Artem Lysak, who also became the official winners of the International Emmy Awards 2023.

The documentary “Ukraine: Mother's War” from NBC News was awarded in the Outstanding News Special Project category. Created last year, it follows the lives of five Ukrainian women whose destinies were radically changed by the war.
CNN journalist Clarissa Ward was honored in the Outstanding Continuing News Coverage category for her reporting from Ukraine.
The Outstanding Editing: News category recognizes The New York Times' investigation into the Russian unit responsible for the deaths of hundreds of Bucha civilians.
The award in the Outstanding Edited Interview category went to CBS' 60 Minutes for its interview with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The News & Documentary Emmy Awards, known as the News & Documentary Emmy Awards, are part of the prestigious Emmy Awards that recognize excellence in the American television industry, both artistic and technical. These awards are presented in the United States by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) to recognize excellence in news and documentary programming.
