Joe Biden met with the leader of the Belarusian opposition: what did they talk about
US President Joe Biden met with former presidential candidate Svetlana Tikhanovskaya. She shared her impressions after meeting with the publication "Present".
“We spent a little time together, about 15 minutes, but it was a very warm meeting. I saw a person who is not indifferent to what is happening in Belarus. And I conveyed our messages to the President that the struggle in Belarus is not geopolitical - it is our struggle against violence, against lawlessness. I am leaving the White House with the confidence that the United States will be with the Belarusians - now and then, ”Tikhanovskaya said.
“It was an honor for me to meet with Tikhanovskaya at the White House. The United States supports the people of Belarus in their quest for democracy and respect for human rights, ”Biden wrote about the meeting.
