A quarter of Americans have not read a single book for 2016 year

26% of Americans did not read a book at all during the year 2016: neither printed nor in electronic or audiovariant.
This is evidenced by a study conducted by the organization Pew Research Center.
Most of those who do not read books do not have a higher education (40%); among Americans who graduated from college, they do not like to read only 13%.
Dislike for books is also associated with income. Books do not read 33% of people with an income of less than $ 30 thousand, while among people with incomes above $ 75 thousand, only 17% do not like to read.
Latinos read less than white Americans. If you divide non-readers by ethnicity, 40% are Latinos, 29% are African-American and 23% are white.
The reluctance to read books also depends on age: among Americans older than 50, 29% did not read books in 2016, while over the past year, only 23% of people in the USA who were younger than 50 did not read.
As it turned out, men love to read books less than women. In addition, the larger the city, the less its inhabitants find time to read.
