Runner lost first place, starting early to celebrate victory
This Saturday, July 4, in Atlanta, took place the men's 10 race AJC Peachtree 2015.
American runner Ben Payne was just a few feet from the intersection of the finish line and first place in this race. But after the judges analyzed the results of the photo finish, the victory was awarded to the British athlete Scott Overal.
Ben Payne missed his first place, starting to celebrate victory too soon. He had not crossed the finish line yet, but he had already raised his hands and began to rejoice, considering himself the winner. At that moment, Scott Overal overtook him for a fraction of a second.
Both athletes to the last did not know which of them won. Everyone was sure that he was the winner. The photo finish results resolved this dispute. The victory went to Overal.
