Trump administration completes peace plan between Israel and Palestine

US officials told Fox News that Trump is "pleased with the terms" of the Israeli-Palestinian peace proposal. White House Special Envoy for the Middle East Jason Greenblatt denies information about the scale of the plan being prepared for implementation.

The plan proposed by the Trump administration for a peaceful settlement of the situation in the Middle East was recently completed, and the US president was informed about its content, senior administration officials said on Tuesday, writes The Times of Israel.

“The plan is complete... [the president] is happy with the parameters of the deal,” a senior White House official said.

According to the report, the document contains from 175 to 200 pages, and less than five people have access to it. The official added that the White House is unlikely to publish the draft before the April elections in Israel.

The same official noted that the security of Israel would be guaranteed in the proposed deal.

“We are not going to do anything that would threaten Israel's security,” a senior administration official said.

Fox said that Trump was repeatedly informed about the details of the plan by US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman, envoy for peace in the Middle East, Jason Greenblatt and senior adviser Jared Kushner.

In his twitter, Greenblatt denied that the plan was finalized, and said that its size did not exceed the 175 pages.

“Although the plan is close to completion, we are not ready yet and will continue to refine it prior to publication,” he wrote.

The report was published a few days before Kouchner appeared at a US-led conference in Poland devoted to the Middle East. At the meeting, he should discuss the peace efforts of the White House and answer questions from the audience.

Kouchner, who is also Trump's son-in-law, will accompany Greenblatt in Warsaw. Together with other administration officials, they will travel to the Middle East later this month to brief diplomats in at least five countries about the economic division of the US peace proposal.

A senior US official last week told The Times of Israel that Washington does not need to balance its pro-Israel stance in order to conclude a peace agreement.

“We don't believe that in order to work on peace efforts we need an equivalence where we can only say certain things about Israel if we also say something about the Palestinians,” he said.

The official said that the date of publication of the peace plan has not yet been determined, and there are “numerous considerations” that can play their role and postpone its publication to mid-May.

The Palestinian Authority has boycotted the US administration since Trump recognized Jerusalem as Israel's capital in 2017, a move that meant the US could no longer mediate peace talks.
