Syria has threatened to bomb Tel Aviv airport
Syria’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Bashar Jaafari, said at a meeting of the Security Council that Damascus could strike at Ben Gurion International Airport in response to Israeli air attacks, writes Rtvi.

“Isn't it time for this Council to take the necessary measures to stop the repeated Israeli aggression against the territories of my country?” Said Jaafari.
The diplomat added that Syria could “use its legitimate right to self-defense” and attack Tel Aviv airport to “get the attention” of the Security Council. Jaafari also believes that Security Council members encourage such “aggression”.
On the night of January 22, the Israeli military attacked Iranian facilities in Syria: the bases of the Iranian special forces Al-Quds, armaments depots and training camp. The targets were mainly at Damascus airport. According to the Human Rights Monitoring Center in Syria, 21 people died as a result of the attack, of which 12 are Iranian militants.
The Israeli military said that the strike was a response to the launch of an Iranian missile from Syria on Israeli positions in the Golan Heights. She was intercepted by the Israeli Iron Dome air defense system.
January 12 The Israel Defense Forces struck several blows against Syria. According to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the military attacked “hundreds of targets” associated with Iran and Hezbollah.
The prime minister also added that Israel "is more determined than ever before to act." According to the Israeli authorities, rocket attacks on the territory of Syria do not allow the Iranian military, who support the current Syrian President Bashar Assad, to gain a foothold there.
