According to one of the passengers, there were almost no people in the bus at the time of the accident.

“We bought tickets and as soon as we sat in the back seat, the bus suddenly pulled away and went straight to the crossing. The partitions between the seats saved us,” said Vladimir, who was traveling on the bus.

An eyewitness to the incident, Makar, found himself near Slavyansky Boulevard after the incident, when doctors and rescuers were working on the scene: “There was no one on the bus anymore. The glass was broken, apparently people were pulled out through the windows. The only thing is that the top of the windshield, the top of the bus was damaged, just a little, not too much, that is, the bus was not particularly damaged.”

Nikolay said that he was “literally in 700 meters” from the transition at the time of the accident.

“When we approached, there were a lot of casualties. There was a little commotion, but people behaved harmoniously. Some people got out on their own, others got help. The police and traffic police officers immediately ran up. After some time, doctors and a helicopter began working,” Nikolai noted.

Another eyewitness said that the driver was not shocked by what happened and did not even help the victims: “The driver said that we would leave in 15 minutes. I just sat down, about 5 minutes passed, and for no apparent reason he started accelerating. There was a bus ahead, driving out onto the sidewalk, it could have gone into the trees, but it seemed to me that it deliberately took it and hit the underpass.”

Muscovite Alexandra at the time of the accident was walking along a pedestrian crossing from a shopping center, after the incident she was trying to help the victims.

“There weren’t that many people... Just as I started to climb the stairs, this bus flies in from nowhere. Glass flew into my shoe, I was injured, my hands were cut. I fell because the people who were walking in front of me ran back in panic,” she said.
