Another “caravan” of illegal immigrants is forming near the city of San Pedro Sula in Honduras; people are expected to head towards the United States on Tuesday, writes NewsRu.com

The city bus station became the gathering point for illegal immigrants. According to various sources, from 700 to 1 thousand people gathered there. The first "caravan" from San Pedro Sula out in mid-October, it numbered up to 2 thousand people. Then similar columns out from El Salvador and Guatemala. All these people managed to reach the border of Mexico and the United States.

Last week, US President Donald Trump said that the situation on the US-Mexico border shocked him with its scale and resembled an invasion.

“Humanitarian crisis on the southern border of the country: I just returned from there, and the situation was much worse than anyone could have imagined. This is an invasion!” Trump tweeted.

In connection with the migration crisis, the US Department of Defense extended the deployment of US troops on the border with Mexico to 30 September 2019.

“The Department of Defense is changing the type of support it provides on the southwest border and, instead of increasing security at border crossing points, will focus on mobile surveillance and detection, as well as the installation of wire fences in the areas between border crossing points. The Ministry of Defense will also continue to provide air support,” the document says.
