Woman sues bar where she drank before causing horrific accident
A Canadian woman convicted of drunk driving that led to a crash in 2019 is suing the food and beverage company that sold her alcohol to hold them accountable for the costs, reports Independent.

Daniella Leys, 26, made national headlines when she crashed her car into a house at 450 Woodman Avenue, London, Ontario. The accident damaged a gas pipeline that later triggered an explosion, causing damage ranging from $9,8 million to $14,7 million.
She pleaded guilty to four counts of drunk driving and was sentenced to three years in prison in 2021.
Leis is now filing a lawsuit against Ovations Ontario Food Services, alleging that the company shares some of the responsibility for the civil lawsuits filed by the victims of the bombing against Leys and her father Sean Lace.

The lawsuit states that Lace was intoxicated at Budweiser Gardens on August 14, 2019, the night of the accident and explosion, so any damage caused to the victims was "caused by negligence and dereliction of duty" on the part of the bar under the Liability Act. tenants or the Liquor License Act.

Among other things, the lawsuit alleges that Lace's bar served alcohol when they knew she was intoxicated. The company is accused of staffing "putting profits ahead of safety."
Lace was driving home from a Marilyn Manson concert that night at Budweiser Gardens, according to the 2019 case documents. She drove the wrong way down Queens Avenue before crashing into a house at 450 Woodman Avenue, damaging the brick house's gas line.
The explosion injured seven people and damaged four houses.
