"American Sniper" grossed $5,3 million in one day of release
Clint Eastwood's American Sniper was impressive. It has grossed $5,3 million since Thursday and is nominated for five Oscars.
Warner Bros. reported that American Sniper is expected to be the biggest breakthrough of Eastwood's career.
The film Hacker, starring Chris Hemsworth/Thor, grossed $179 in overnight screenings. But over four days off, another $10 million was raised.
“American Sniper” earned another $3,4 million from overnight screenings. It's expected to gross another $44 million to $48 million this weekend.
"American Sniper" was nominated for best picture, and the film's star Bradley Cooper was nominated for best actor.
The film was shot on the biographical book of sniper Chris Kyle, who was killed by one of his fellow workers, writes AmericaRu.com
