In the US, a Time Warner Cable subscriber was sued for more than $200 thousand for robocalls.
In the US, the court ordered the operator Time Warner Cable to pay 229,5 thousand dollars to one of the subscribers for receiving automatic calls addressed to the previous owner of the number.
In less than a year, Texas resident Araceli King received 153 such calls regarding the debts of the previous owner of the number. In 2014, King appealed to the court to Time Warner Cable, however, according to her, the calls did not stop after that.
The victim’s lawyer, Sergei Lemberg, noted that the court’s decision was a signal to all consumers who did not take action in connection with uninterrupted automated calls.
The representative of Time Warner said that the company is trying to decide how to proceed.
