Russia is preparing for mass arrests of assets abroad
The total value of Russia's foreign assets, which may be seized, is about five billion dollars, writes RBC, citing sources close to the government and the State Duma.
According to the newspaper, such an assessment, in particular, was made at a meeting of the interdepartmental working group set up to assess the damage to Russia from the actions of foreign bailiffs in various lawsuits. In particular, the RBC publication also mentions the decision of the Hague Court, which obliged Russia to pay fifty billion dollars to the former owners of the Yukos oil company.
According to the Accounts Chamber at 2012, Russia had an 973 facility abroad. These are mainly trade missions and buildings of diplomatic departments, as well as churches.
Russia does not recognize the decision of the Arbitration Court in The Hague, which in June awarded the former shareholders of Yukos fifty billion dollars in compensation for the expropriation of property.
