Seven Chechens detained in Belgium: they were planning a terrorist attack
Belgian police have detained seven people on suspicion of plotting a terrorist attack. This was reported by the Belgian prosecutor's office, writes European truth.

The suspects are known to have discussed several attack scenarios in Belgium, but have not yet decided on a target.
“There was talk about NATO buildings, but at the moment those plans don't look very concrete,” a spokesman for the prosecutor's office said.

Almost all suspects are of Chechen origin. Three are citizens of Belgium and belong to a group of ardent supporters of the terrorist Islamic State. Some of them had previous convictions for minor offences.
The arrests came after police raided several locations in West Flanders and Ghent as part of a terrorism investigation.

The judge will later decide whether the suspects stand trial. They may be charged with attempted murder, participation in the activities of a terrorist group and preparation of a terrorist attack.
