Utah Pensioner of 11 years kept the body of her dead husband in the freezer

In the house of a recently deceased woman in Utah, a man’s body was found in a freezer. According to police estimates, it could lie there for about 11 years, writes ABC News.

A terrible discovery occurred last week when police conducted a routine inspection of the home of an 75-year-old woman named Jeanne Suron-Mathers. She was not seen for about two weeks. When the police got access to her house, the woman was found dead - her body lay on the bed.

“This is exactly where it all began,” said Tooela City Police Sergeant Jeremy Hansen.

The officers began to study the place of death of the woman, but when they looked into the freezer, inside they found the body of an adult man.

“Both bodies were delivered to the forensic office for autopsy. There were no visible injuries on the woman. We are still awaiting the conclusion of a forensic expert and the autopsy of a man. This way we can find out if there is any injury or something like that on his body, and try to determine how he died, ”said Jeremy Hansen.

Police later identified the deceased as the woman’s husband, Paul Edward Mathers, but during the initial investigation, authorities received many different messages from neighbors about the last time they saw him.

“Well, now this is our problem. Detectives talked to several other people in a residential complex. They remembered when they saw a man, but each had a different date. That's why we suspect somewhere from a year and a half to 11 years ... We really don’t know how long he spent in the freezer, ”Hansen said.

The death of Paul Edward Mathers is under investigation, but there are no questions and suspicions about the death of Jeanne Suron-Mathers.
