States with the highest mortality from drug overdose

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention annually publishes data on drug overdose mortality in each state.

The data for 2016 was published the other day (this is the newest information available at the moment), writes CBS.

States with the highest death rates from drug overdose:

1. West Virginia (52 death from overdose on 100 thousands of residents);
2. Ohio (39,1 deaths on 100 thousands of residents);
3. New Hampshire (39 deaths on 100 thousands of inhabitants);
4. Pennsylvania (37,9 deaths per 100 thousand inhabitants);
5. Kentucky (33,5 deaths on 100 thousands of residents);
6. Maryland (33,2 deaths per 100 thousand inhabitants);
7. Massachusetts (33 deaths per 100 thousands of inhabitants);
8. Rhode Island (30,8 deaths per 100 thousand inhabitants);
9. Delaware (30,8 deaths on 100 thousands of residents);
10. Maine (28,7 deaths on 100 thousands of inhabitants).

Florida is located on the 16 location, the death rate from drugs in this region is 23,7 deaths per 100 thousands of inhabitants.

The overdose mortality rate is 23,2 of death per 100 of thousands of residents in New Jersey (place 18).

Illinois took the place of 27, a drug overdose here caused 18,9 deaths to 100 thousands of residents.

On the 29-th line of the ranking is located New York, here 18 people per 100 thousands of residents die from a drug overdose.

California ended up on a 44 location; in this state, drug overdose caused 11,2 deaths to 100 000 residents.
