The Senate has approved aid to Ukraine in 300 million dollars
The upper house of the US Congress passed a bill on defense spending for the 2016 year, which provides for the allocation of three hundred million dollars for military aid to Ukraine, said Ukrainian Ambassador to the US Valery Chaly.
According to Chaly, the document allows the US Secretary of Defense, in coordination with the Secretary of State, to provide military assistance for this amount.
“Fifty million dollars from the specified amount can be used to provide our country with defensive weapons,” Chaly explained on his Facebook page.
In particular, drones, communications and electronic warfare can be transferred to Kiev. Part of the funds may be directed to the training of Ukrainian soldiers.
The total amount of US military spending for the next year, according to the document, will be 612 billion dollars.
