Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya, who had a meeting with Donald Trump Jr. in June 2016, once again emphasized that she had no connections with the Russian government, and the meeting with Trump's team was connected with the interest of her client to the situation around Magnitsky.

According to the lawyer, she was not informed of any information that could harm Hillary Clinton, and she was going to meet with another goal.

When asked why representatives of Trump's headquarters had the impression that she had potentially dangerous compromising information about Hillary Clinton, Veselnitskaya replied: “Maybe they had a desire to see it, and they saw from the idea I was talking about , only that they might be interested. I was interested in something else. ”

She described the meeting in detail, stating that she did not know who would be attending the meeting; she was only told that Trump Junior was ready to meet with her.

According to the lawyer, she was not familiar with Manafort and Kushner before. She realized who they were, only after seeing their photos in the media. Veselnitskaya said that Kushner was present only at the “first 7 – 10 minutes” of the meeting, and then “got up and left the room”, and never returned. Manafort stayed, but all the time he looked at the phone.

“He read something all the time. He did not participate in the conversation, ”the lawyer said.

Recall 9 July it became known that in the summer of 2016, the son and son of Donald Trump, as well as the then head of his campaign headquarters met with a Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya.

According to Trump Jr., the meeting was organized by his friends; the lawyer initially promised to provide compromising on Clintonbut focused the conversation on Magnitsky’s list and the adoption program of Russian children by Americans.

Later it became known that the meeting was organized by music publisher Rob Goldstone at the request of Russian singer Emin Agalarov.

July 11 Donald Trump Jr made public the correspondence concerning this meeting. From the published correspondence it follows that Rob Goldstone told Trump Jr. about the presence of compromising documents about the connection of Hillary Clinton with Russia, and the meeting with Veselnitskaya concerned these particular data.
