English tutor from New York arrested in Chelyabinsk for pedophilia

An English tutor from New York living in Russia was accused of raping a child and recording pornography with two girls under the age of 14.
64-year-old emigrant David Lang, who teaches English and conducts business classes in Chelyabinsk, is accused of 25 counts of the criminal code, including rape, production of child pornography and sexual harassment for 9 years.
Lang, a respected teacher, a well-known senior American diplomat, can go to jail for 15 years if convicted.
The trial of him is kept secret due to minor victims.
Evidence of his guilt includes graphic images and films that were reportedly found in his home in Chelyabinsk or posted on the Internet.
A spokesman for the Kurchatov District Court said that the first hearing took place on September 6.
Lang was detained in 2015 year, and all this time he was in custody in Chelyabinsk.
Before the arrest, the defendant met with the then US ambassador to Russia Alexander Vershbow, who served in Moscow from 2001 to 2005 a year. He also has a photo with the American consul in Yekaterinburg, Thomas Niblock.
It is believed that Lang participated in the US programs for the development of democracy in Russia. He has been working and living here since the beginning of 2000's.
According to government investigators, Lang published child pornography on the Internet from June 2006 to November 2015, when he was arrested.
Earlier it was reported that the Russian authorities accused Lang of delaying his visa.
