Confused with the criminal: a Texas policeman accidentally shot his son
A policeman from Dallas (Texas) accidentally shot his son, confusing him with a criminal. He did not know that his son was in the house. Writes about this with the BBC.

Law enforcers have already said that they will not bring any charges against their colleague.
“This was an unfortunate incident,” said local police spokesman Pete Schulte.
“We treat this case the same as any other,” he assured
20-year-old son of a police officer was injured in the forearm, his life is not in danger.
According to Pete Schulte, the officer returned home in the evening and did not know that his son was at home.
Law enforcement officers do not disclose either the name of the policeman or the name of his son.

Also in Texas, another similar incident happened, which ended in tragedy: a policeman mistakenly shot dead Atatiyana Jefferson, an 28-year-old woman who was at home at that time.
Militiamen arrived at the call of a neighbor who told police that the front door of Mrs. Jefferson’s house was open.
The policeman who shot the woman was charged with murder.
In early October 2019, Dallas police officer Amber Haiger also received 10 years in prison for killed her neighbor in his own apartment.
She insisted that this happened by mistake: supposedly in the dark she mixed up the apartments and decided that the neighbor was a burglar.
