Obama's mistake: Trump believes that the annexation of Crimea could be stopped
The annexation of Crimea, for which Russia was expelled from the G8, was the mistake of former US President Barack Obama, and the capture of the peninsula could be stopped, said US President Donald Trump. Writes about this "European truth".

The journalist who asked the US president told him that Russia was removed from the Group of Eight precisely after the annexation of Crimea, and not because “Putin outsmarted Obama.”
“I know that you love President Obama very much, but Crimea was annexed during his presidency. If this had happened under my rule, I would have said: “Sorry, friends, I made a mistake!” "President Obama helped Ukraine and Crimea was annexed under his presidency," Trump said.

Trump recalled that Crimea is a “very large and very important” territory. There, he said, Russia keeps its powerful submarines.

Trump also said that he would invite Russian President Vladimir Putin as a guest at the G7 summit in the United States. According to him, it would be advisable to return Moscow to the club.
At a press conference after the G7 summit in Biarritz, Trump confirmed his intention: “Whether he can come or not, psychologically, I think it’s difficult to do,” Trump added, noting that Putin is “a proud man.”
