Oregon became the first state to add a third floor ID

Oregon became the first state in the US, where the driver's license will be a new designation of gender identity. Such certificates will begin to issue from July 3.
This is reported by the local TV channel KFOR.
The third gender option will be indicated on the driver's license - a cross - "X". People who do not identify as male or female may choose the third option.
“We know that gender is a relative concept and some people do not identify as male or female. Our lives are hyper-gendered, so it's important that driver's licenses and other forms of identification now recognize these people. Removing barriers is important to people and helps us all live healthier lives,” said Nancy Hack, co-executive director Basic Rights Oregon.
The process of adding the third floor started last summer after the decision of the District Court of Multnom. Then the judge ruled that veteran army Jamie Schupe can legally change the gender specified in the driver's license from female to another (but not male).
“We know that the court ordered a gender change to another, but not male or female, and then we could not do it. We went to study the statutes and concluded that the court's decision could be implemented by changing the rules and legislation,” said David House, a spokesman for the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT).
Oregon State Transportation Commission approved rule changes unanimously, and it will take effect on July 3.
