Why UPS drivers only turn right

UPS express delivery drivers do not turn left and advise other drivers to do the same, and here's why.
The tactic of avoiding left turns is the result of a complex mathematical equation that has saved the company hundreds of dollars.
The UPS vehicle routing program has found that turning left is a waste of time and money. (The rule applies to countries where cars drive on the right side of the road). Although reducing cross-traffic can increase the time it takes to get to your destination, it reduces the amount of time and fuel due to waiting at the intersection and eliminates the likelihood of an accident.
The company announced such a turnaround policy in 2004 and since then has helped the company to use less 37,8 million liters of fuel, release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere 20 thousand tons less and deliver more than 350 thousand packages.
The company acknowledges that sometimes left turns are simply unavoidable. In this case, UPS claim that they make up less than 10% of all machines in the company.
Despite the fact that all this may seem far-fetched, the researchers at Mythbusters have experienced the rule of UPS and concluded that the rejection of the left turns saved them fuel.
If everyone agreed not to turn left anymore, this could lead to significant savings and a reduction in carbon emissions. But, unfortunately, people do not change their own path, if it does not bring them personal benefits.
