US President Donald Trump and DPRK leader Kim Jong-un signed the declaration at the end of the Singapore summit.

President Trump and Chairman Kim Jong-un had a comprehensive, meaningful and sincere exchange of views on issues related to the establishment of a new relationship between the United States and the DPRK and building a durable and sustainable peace regime on the Korean Peninsula. President Trump pledged to provide security guarantees to the DPRK, and Kim Jong-un confirmed his firm and unshakable commitment to the complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

President Trump and Chairman Kim Jong-un, convinced that the establishment of new relations between the United States and the DPRK will contribute to the peace and prosperity of the Korean Peninsula and the whole world, and recognizing that mutual confidence-building contributes to the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, declare the following:

The United States and the DPRK pledge to establish new relations in accordance with the desire of the peoples of the two countries to achieve peace and prosperity.

The United States and the DPRK intend to unite their efforts to achieve stability and peace on the Korean Peninsula.

In confirmation of the provisions of the declaration adopted at the Inter-Korean Summit in Phanmunjom 21 on April 2018, the DPRK is committed to the complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

The United States and the DPRK pledge to identify the remains of US military personnel - prisoners of war / missing persons - including to ensure the immediate repatriation of those that have already been identified.

Recognizing that the US-DPRK summit — the first in history — is an epoch-making event that is of great importance for overcoming ten-year tensions and hostility between the two countries and for opening a new future, President Trump and Chairman Kim Jong-un pledge to fulfill the provisions of the joint statement in full and immediately. The United States and the DPRK pledge to conduct follow-up negotiations as soon as possible, led by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and the relevant senior official from the DPRK in order to implement the outcome of the summit of the heads of the United States and the DPRK.

The President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, and the Chairman of the State Council of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Kim Jong-un, are committed to working together to develop new relations between the United States and the DPRK and promote peace, prosperity and security on the Korean Peninsula and throughout the world.

In this case, the Russian service with the BBC drew attention to the fact that the document says nothing about the sanctions imposed on the DPRK. Nor is there any promise about the signing of a peace treaty between North and South Korea. The countries of the Korean War 1950-1953, which killed millions of people, are formally still in a state of armistice.

The lack of specifics in the agreement on how and in what time the DPRK will get rid of nuclear weapons can be explained by the fact that this is a basic agreement, details of which will be further discussed during meetings between officials of the two states.
