The New York Times will deliver food
The publication The New York Times announced that this summer will launch a delivery service sets for cooking at home. Recipes for making these sets can be found on the culinary website of the publication.
Kits are available for ordering both separately and as part of a subscription.
Thus, the newspaper publisher is looking for a new source of revenue to compensate for the decline in print.
“Our audience spends a lot of time cooking at home. So it’s a natural area for us to explore,” said Alice Tin, vice president of brand development, licensing and syndication for the Times.
In recent years, the New York Times Co is trying to make money at live conferences, wine clubs and online stores that sell hats, shirts and other little things with the logo of The New York Times.
New York Times Cooking has about 7 millions of active users per month and contains more 17 000 recipes.
