The Moscow theater canceled a tour in Israel, allegedly due to threats from actor Anatoly Bely

The Moscow theater "Lenkom" canceled tours in Israel. The head of the theater blames the popular actor Anatoly Bely, who was born and raised in Ukraine, for this. Writes about it Columnist.

After the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Bely, calling the war a "catastrophe", left Russia, where he worked and was a recognized actor.

The director of Lenkom, Mark Varshaver, made a statement that the dissatisfaction of one Ukrainian actor and a “bunch of hooligans” forced a hundred people to refuse to earn money abroad.

Warshaver complained the day before that he and a group of actors were receiving threats. The most actively persecuted is Olesya Zheleznyak, the star of “Matchmakers,” who fully supports the war and called Russia a “savior,” and accused the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky of intending to “kill her children.”

Although it was stated that the Israelis themselves created a petition to cancel the tour of the Russian theater, while the actors claimed that they did not believe in it. According to the director of Lenkom, Anatoly Bely is to blame for everything.

“The fact is that a bunch of hooligans, led by actor Anatoly Bely, who is well known in Russia, are threatening and intend to prevent Lenkom from touring. We don't need problems. For me, as the director of the theater, the health of my artists and employees is much more important - and we had to go there with a large team of a hundred people,” said Varshaver.

According to him, the embassy urged Lenkom to ignore the threats, and the tour producer promised additional security, but the frightened artists still decided to cancel the concert, although tickets had already been sold out.

Varshaver does not believe that other people do not want to see pro-Russian stars in Israel.
