Wednesday's Storm Closed All New York Schools

In this regard, the mayor of New York, Bill de Blasio decided to close on Tuesday all schools in the city, writes NBC.

This is the first of the winter storms this year, because of which classes in New York schools were canceled. According to de Blasio, the reason for such a decision was that the most severe snowfall in the city is predicted during the hours when school hours are taking place.

“We want to be safe in this case. And we want to be careful,” the mayor explained.

He also advised motorists in New York without an urgent need not to drive on the roads during Thursday.

Some New Jersey and Connecticut counties made the decision to close the schools, which would also be subject to a storm.

Since the beginning of March, the 3 storm has already hit the east coast of the United States, leading to death, power outages and ground and air transport disruptions. According to meteorologists, active weather will continue until the end of March and may lead to several more storms in the region this month.

2 March in the region there was a first storm. It led to the cancellation of thousands of flights and the temporary closure of some rail routes. New Jersey, the Hudson Valley and Sussex County, where more than 30 cm of snow fell, were hardest hit by this storm.

Second storm7 March, left without electricity hundreds of thousands of New Jersey residents and the Hudson Valley. More than 50 cm of snow was recorded in the districts of Rockland, Orange, Passeik and Essex.

Storm 12 March spread over almost the entire territory of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. The greatest amount of snow fell in Long Island and Connecticut.

At least 7 people died due to difficult weather conditions as a result of these storms.
