A powerful solar storm will cause electricity outages and an amazing sight.
NASA has discovered a giant solar flare, the activity of which will negatively affect our planet today.
NASA announced two giant sun flares in the sun.
The space agency said that as a result of the solar storm, the Earth could feel its effects today or tomorrow. Due to radiation storms, solar flares and coronal mass ejection that will change the atmosphere and the Earth’s magnetic field, affecting our technologies, satellites and disrupting our energy supply.
“There are currently minor geomagnetic storm watches in effect for March 14 and 15, 2018. Aurora can be seen at high latitudes,” the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) said in a statement.
According to NOAA, the particles that came from the Sun after the 6 and 7 March solar flares can cause "weak oscillations of the power system" and "a slight effect on the operation of satellites."
NASA said that the first of two outbreaks was the most powerful this year.
However, the charged particles that make up the solar storm can create stunning views that resemble the Northern Lights, because they interact with our atmosphere.
