Friends of Tsarnaev were convicted on 3,5 and 3 of the year for obstructing the investigation

A Massachusetts court on Friday June 5 sentenced two more friends of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, convicted of the Boston Marathon bombing. It is reported by Reuters.

A citizen of Kazakhstan, exchange student Azamat Tazhayakov was sentenced to 3,5 years in prison, Robel Phillipos from Cambridge was sentenced to three years.

Tazhayakov was found guilty of having helped his compatriot Dias Kadyrbayev (Dias Kadyrbayev) to throw away the backpack belonging to Tsarnaev and in his room, in which there were empty shells from under the fireworks.

As it was established in court, the students did this when they recognized their comrade in one of the suspects in the terrorist attack, the image of which was published by the FBI. Their action was qualified as obstruction of justice.

Another person involved in the case, Phillipos, was sentenced on Friday to three years for lying to investigators.

Kadyrbaev pleaded guilty within the framework of an agreement with the court and was sentenced on June 2 to six years in prison. Tazhayakova and Philipos found the jury guilty.

Tsarnaev was sentenced to death on May 15. He was found guilty on all 30 counts, 17 of which carry the death penalty.

The bombings at the Boston Marathon, which occurred on April 15, 2013, killed three people and injured more than 250.
