'May the force be with you': Matt Damon, Morgan Freeman and other celebrities appeal to Ukrainians on the anniversary of the Russian invasion

Several dozen world celebrities recorded an appeal to Ukrainians with words of support on the anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The video, in which more than 30 stars appeared, was published by the Ukrainian donation platform United24, writes Meduza.

Cast members Julia Roberts, Morgan Freeman, Michael Keaton, Matt Damon, Misha Collins, Jack Gleason, Mark Hamill, director Wes Anderson, singer Barbra Streisand, Pet Shop Boys, Imagine Dragons lead singer Dan Reynolds, historian Timothy Snyder and astronaut Scot Kelly.

The star of "Game of Thrones" Jack Gleason recorded his video message just at the moment when he was in Ukraine. And the star of "Supernatural" Misha Collins recorded his words of support in Ukrainian. In Ukrainian, the Canadian actress of Ukrainian origin Katherine Winnick, the star of the Vikings, also addressed everyone.

Celebrities emphasized that it was a very difficult year - a year of pain and loss, a year that no one wanted. But this is also the year when the whole world, with bated breath, watched the courage, determination and inflexibility of Ukrainians.

"It's a message of love, respect and solidarity," Matt Damon said.

“You are fighting for all of us,” said actor Ethan Hawke.

“For our peace, our well-being, our freedom,” added Timothy Snyder.

“You inspire the whole world ... We will support you for as long as it takes. And we look forward to an early victory and peace,” said Barbra Streisand.

“Know that your courage, resilience, strength and dignity as you fight against evil serve as an inspiration to the entire world,” said Misha Collins.

“We are thinking of you and sending you our love, strength and our prayers,” added Julia Roberts.

“Just know that people here, outside of Ukraine, think about you and support you,” Josh Brolin emphasized.

“We are with you, Ukraine,” says ABBA member Bjorn Ulvaeus in the video.

“And may the force be with you. Always,” Mark Hamill concludes the video message.
