The United States officially announced that Russia committed crimes against humanity in Ukraine
US Vice President Kamala Harris said the US determined that the Russian military was committing a crime against humanity during its invasion of Ukraine. Writes about it Fox News.
Harris made the announcement on February 18 during her speech at the Munich Security Conference in Germany.
“The United States has officially determined that Russia has committed crimes against humanity,” Harris said. “From the very beginning of this unprovoked war, we have witnessed heinous atrocities and war crimes committed by Russian troops. Their actions are an attack on our shared values, an attack on our common humanity.”
Harris arrived in Munich on February 16, where she was met by Bavarian President Markus Söder.

The conference runs February 17-19 and brings together world leaders to discuss pressing international security issues, including the war in Ukraine.
“And let's be clear: Russian forces have launched widespread and systematic attacks against civilians,” she continued. - Horrible acts of murder, torture, rape and forced deportations, executions, beatings, electrocution. Russian authorities have forcibly deported hundreds of thousands of people, including children, from Ukraine to Russia.”
The Munich Security Report, released February 13, includes "exclusive data and charts on current security policy issues" and details authoritarian regimes.
During her speech, Harris mentioned her practice as a California prosecutor, saying that this career has made her aware of the nature of criminal cases and the prosecution process.
