Ex-president of Georgia Saakashvili resigned as Ukrainian governor

The governor of the Odessa region of Ukraine, Mikhail Saakashvili, announced that he was resigning. At the press conference, which was broadcast on his facebook page, he said that the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko supports corrupt officials.
“Odessa will begin to develop only after Kyiv is liberated from corrupt officials who directly patronize banditry and lawlessness, including in the Odessa region. Therefore, in this situation, I decided to resign and begin a new stage of the struggle,” Saakashvili said. “My hands will not give up, and I will not get tired, let them not hope.”
During the briefing, the politician visibly worried and repeatedly repeated that he was tired.
Saakashvili said that the last straw was electronic declarations of officials. He noted that some politicians receive material assistance, despite their multi-billion dollar fortune.
The politician accused Poroshenko of “personal support of corrupt clans” in the Odessa region.
