Over 170 Free Parks: Florida Library Card Holders Get New Bonus
If you love nature, now you have another reason to get a library card. It entitles you to free admission to Florida state parks. Read more about this innovation told the publication My Sun Coast.

State agencies, including the Division of Library and Information Services, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, and Florida State Parks, are offering state park day passes to library card holders as part of The Real Florida Reader Day Pass initiative.
The program allows anyone with a Florida Public Library Card to apply for a day pass to one of Florida's 175 state parks, which provides free admission to the park (up to 8 people per car).

The program will run until September 13th. The pass does not include entry to Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife, Skyway Pier, and Weeki Wachee Springs parks, it is only available for day use and does not include camping or any other fees.
Florida residents who do not have library cards can sign up to get one from their local library to participate in this program.

Participants are encouraged to read books about Florida's wildlife, horticulture, and natural resources, and then explore Florida State Park to put their knowledge into practice.
