Biden forced the President of Ukraine to dismiss the Prosecutor General to cover up the corrupt actions of his son

Former US Vice President Joe Biden insisted on the dismissal of the former Prosecutor General of Ukraine Viktor Shokin, as his investigation threatened to disclose the corrupt practices of Biden and his son.

Biden became responsible for the policy of the Barack Obama administration towards Ukraine in mid-February 2014, and just a few weeks later his son Hunter Biden received a mysterious offer to become a member of the board of directors of the Ukrainian energy company Burisma Group.

“By 2016, Ukrainian anti-corruption authorities focused on investigating the activities of Burisma Group. Ukrainian prosecutors checked her for several reasons. It was suspected that there had been tax fraud, corruption in obtaining permits for gas production, and they were also worried that money was being withdrawn from the company’s accounts and sent to the United States. They did not know the essence of these transactions, and wanted to obtain information about them by interrogating the people who received this money, one of whom was Hunter Biden,” the journalist said.

But, according to him, at the time when prosecutors prepared a request for Hunter Biden's interrogation, Joe Biden arrived in Ukraine and told the country's president that if he did not dismiss the prosecutor general in the next 6 hours of Biden's stay in the country, he would stop issuing credit to Ukraine guarantees for 1 billion dollars, which the country needed to preserve solvency. If this happened, Ukraine would go bankrupt over the next 12 hours.

Biden himself talked about this, but he called the other’s motivation for his actions: “I am very concerned that Ukraine has rolled back in the fight against corruption. I have a specific example. Ukraine was one of my areas of responsibility. I was there and had to announce a billion dollars in new loan guarantees. I received a promise from Poroshenko (President of Ukraine) and Yatsenyuk (Prime Minister of Ukraine at that time) that they would dismiss the Prosecutor General, but they did not. And I told them that we would not give them a billion dollars. They replied: "You have no authority, you are not the president, the president promised." I answered: “Call him. I told you that you won’t get a billion dollars. ” I said I was leaving in 6 hours, and if by this time the prosecutor was not fired, they would not receive the money. And they fired him. ”

According to John Solomon, Viktor Shokin, who was dismissed at that time, “thought he was pursuing corruption. But he was the prosecutor of the old school, and he was criticized in the country for not doing enough. ”

“Shokin was not popular in Ukraine when Biden did this. But I think the most important thing about this for Americans is that our ethics law says that a person should not interfere in American politics if a member of his family has a financial interest in that area. Hunter Biden had financial interests in the Burisma Group, whose activities were being investigated by Ukrainian prosecutors. But still, Joe Biden intervened in this process,” Solomon said.

He noted that the former vice president could not say that he was not aware of this conflict of interest, since there were many stories in the media that his son joined the Burisma Group, and there were many stories that the prosecutor general was engaged matters related to Hunter Biden.

“I interviewed Shokin, and he said that he was fired just a few days before he intended to send a request for questioning of Hunter Biden. “They have records showing that more than $3 million was sent from the Burisma Group in the United States to accounts controlled by Hunter Biden and his business partners during the period of Shokin’s dismissal,” the journalist said.

He added that the new Prosecutor General of Ukraine, Yuriy Lutsenko, again opened the case against the Burisma Group, but only a few years later.

“The new prosecutor general who replaced Shokin, Yuriy Lutsenko, told me in an interview that he only recently (the interview was in 2019) learned that the investigation against Burisma was closed due to pressure from Joe Biden. I reopened it because I have serious concerns about what they may have found out and what they were not allowed to investigate,” Solomon said.
