United States suspects Russians of acoustic attack on diplomats

Intelligence of the United States of America considers Russia to be the main suspect in the case of sound attacks on US diplomatic personnel in Cuba and in China, which led to brain injuries. He writes about it RBC with reference to US officials and NBC News.

At present, the evidence collected is not yet final, in order to officially accuse Moscow of attacks that have seriously damaged relations between Havana and Washington.

"Agencies that are investigating mysterious (sound - ed.) attacks that left U.S. personnel with brain injuries in Cuba and China consider Russia a prime suspect in the case," the report said.

The investigation, which lead the FBI, the CIA and other US agencies, is still ongoing.

Earlier, American Republican Senator, member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the upper house of the US Congress, Jeff Flake, said that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) had identified evidence of “acoustic attacks” against American diplomats in Cuba.

Recall in October 2017, the US State Department stated, that as a result of “acoustic attacks” in Cuba early last year against diplomatic personnel, 24 people were injured. In turn, Cuban investigators called the United States accusations about “acoustic attacks” “science fiction.”
