'I just saw her and wanted to steal': new details of the kidnapping of a girl from Wisconsin
He did not even know her name. The kidnapper, Jamie Kloss, an 13-year-old girl who disappeared three months ago from the house where her parents were killed, spoke about how he accidentally saw her and decided to kidnap her.
One morning he was driving to a factory when he noticed an 13-year-old girl at the bus stop. It was at that moment that he decided to steal it, writes New York Post.
21-year-old Jake Thomas Patterson, stated that he “never met JLC (Jamie Closs) on any social media and only learned her name after the kidnapping when I returned to my home.”
But Patterson meticulously hatched a plan to kidnap the teenager - a plan that ended with the cold-blooded murder of her parents and Jamie's subsequent 88-day imprisonment in a forest house, from which she was eventually able to escape.
A cheese factory worker admitted that when he knocked at the family house, Father Jamie decided that he was a police officer. He came to their house from head to foot in black, in military boots, with a knife and a gun. Patterson shot and killed his father, and then went to search for the remaining victims.
He found Jamie and her mother sitting in the bathtub - the mother "trying to protect her daughter from the monster by covering her in a giant bear hug."
Patterson ordered the mother to let the girl go, then tied Jamie with adhesive tape. A girl was standing next to him when he shot her mother.
Jamie herself also said she “heard a gunshot and realized her father had just been killed,” according to the court complaint, released before Patterson made his first court appearance Monday.
“JLC [Jamie] stated that her mother had the phone and called 911. JLC stated that Patterson broke down the bathroom door and told the mother to hang up. Patterson ordered the mother to put duct tape over JLC's mouth, which her mother did, and then Patterson shot her mother. JLC stated that both her mother and father were shot with one shot each,” court records said.
Then he shoved the girl into the trunk of the car and drove away. Before the girl’s release, there were 88 days left.
The other day Jamie was able to escapewhen Patterson was not at home. She was seen by Jeanne Nutter, who was walking her dog. She said that the girl looked dirty, thin and with matted hair. Kristin and Peter Kasinskas told that a neighbor had knocked on them, a thin and dirty girl was standing next to her. They immediately realized that these were Jamie Kloss, and called 911. Spouses Kasinskas also said that Jamie was silent and almost did not show emotions. She said that she does not know where she is now, that her parents were killed, and she was taken away.
"I'm shocked. This is what we prayed for every day,” said Kelly Engelhardt, Jamie’s aunt. The girl was not physically injured and is now at home with relatives.
