In North Carolina, found the body of a girl abducted from a house three weeks ago

According to preliminary data, the body, discovered in North Carolina on November 27, belongs to the 13-year-old Chania Aguilar, who was abducted from her home more than three weeks ago, writes NBC News.

“We are absolutely devastated. I wish we had a different outcome, for the sake of Hania's family, for the sake of the community in which she lived, and for the sake of the hundreds of law enforcement officers and first responders who worked hard to find her and bring her home,” the police chief said Lumberton Michael McNeil.

Hania Aguilar was abducted from the courtyard of her home in Lumberton on the morning of November 5, a few minutes before her family was going to take her to the school bus stop.

The body of the girl was found around 16: 45 on November 27 in a pond in Roubson County.

28 November state staff said preliminary tests showed that the body found was owned by Chania, but final confirmation will be made after comparing the teeth and dental records.

Witnesses of the abduction told that they heard the cry of a girl and saw a man in black with a yellow bandana on his face, who by force stuffed Chania into the family car and took it away.

The stolen SUV was discovered on November 8, three days after the abduction. The area where the vehicle was found in a wooded area is located approximately 10 miles (16 km) from the site of the abduction of Chania.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

“Our work is not done, we will not stop until we find the person or persons responsible and hold them accountable,” McNeil said.

Last week, the FBI said that law enforcement agencies conducted 100 interrogations in the case of Chania’s disappearance.

The FBI offered a reward of up to 25 000 dollars for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the abduction of the girl.
