In Norway, kidnappers of the wife of one of the richest businessmen demand $ 10,4 million in cryptocurrency

In Norway, attackers kidnapped one wife of the richest people of the country - businessman Tom Hagen.

68-year-old Anna-Elizabeth Falkievik disappeared 10 weeks ago (at the end of October) from a family house in Lorenskog, writes “Medusa".

Sources in the police told the publication that there were no traces of hacking in the house. It is assumed that a woman was attacked in the bathroom. A note was found in the house demanding to pay for the release of Falkievik nine million euros ($ 10,4 million) in Monero cryptocurrency.

For security reasons, the information about the abduction has not been made public for a long time by the wife of Tom Hagen. At the same time, not only the Norwegian law enforcement agencies, but also Europol and Interpol were connected to the investigation of the case.

On January 9, the police officially confirmed that the case of the alleged kidnapping of Falkvevik is under investigation. Inspector Tommy Breuske, speaking at a press conference, said that law enforcement authorities advised the woman’s relatives not to pay the ransom.

According to the inspector, the police contacted the alleged abductors (or the abductor) through some kind of “electronic platform”. Brøske declined to disclose other details.

Local sources Aftenposten reported that the kidnappers threatened to severely damage Falkvevik, and in December they could not provide evidence that she was still alive. This case is the first case in the history of Norway when thieves demand a ransom in the cryptocurrency.
