'Go back to Mexico': Burger King customers lashed out at the manager. VIDEO

A scuffle between two clients and a manager who spoke Spanish at the Burger King restaurant in Florida caught the video. It has already been viewed more than 22 000 times on social networks

“This is America. Our main language is English... Go back to Mexico if you want to continue speaking Spanish,” the woman told the manager after overhearing his conversation with the employee. The woman herself was having lunch at a restaurant with another client.

“Guess what, ma’am, I’m not Mexican,” said Ricardo Castillo, who is from Puerto Rico. “You’re prejudiced, and I want you to leave my restaurant right now.”

Castillo argued with women and defended his right to speak Spanish, given that he is a Puerto Rican.

When one of the women shouted back: “This is not your restaurant,” he threatened to call the police and indict them for the encroachment.

“I have nothing more to tell you, ma’am. Just have a nice day and don’t come back,” he told them.

The incident occurred in a restaurant in the town of Eustis, in 40 miles (64 km) north of Orlando.

“When I heard the phrase, ‘You can’t speak Spanish here,’ I turned on the camera on my phone,” recalls client Neizha Borrero, who recorded the argument.

Borrero added that she was from Puerto Rico and was not surprised at what had happened.

“I can speak English and Spanish,” says the woman. — There are people who can speak other languages. They should not feel discriminated against in their country. They should be proud that they can learn another language and communicate with more people.”

Later, Castillo said that at that moment he was speaking Spanish with an employee.

“I can't believe there are still people like this. We are all the same. We are all human,” Castillo told The Daily Commercial.

In his 18 years at the restaurant, “this has never happened before,” he added.
