Strange things are happening at the Texas Zoo, a bird has died suspiciously: witnesses are promised a reward of $ 10000

The Dallas Zoo is offering a $10 reward to anyone who provides information that will help them find the perpetrator. Authorities are looking for someone involved in a number of recent animal-related crimes, including the death of an endangered vulture, reports KeraNews.

Zoo officials believe the animal's death is linked to a string of suspicious incidents in recent weeks, including one involving a leopard that went missing for hours.

Dallas police said a male white-headed vulture named Pin was found dead in his enclosure on Jan. 21. They are investigating the bird's death as suspicious. An autopsy will be performed.

Police said the perpetrator could be charged with animal cruelty.

Dallas Zoo CEO Gregg Hudson said at a January 23 press conference that the vulture was found injured. Asked by a reporter if the bird had been shot, Hudson declined to comment.

“We are going to continue to expand and implement all necessary measures to ensure the safety of animals, staff and people living near the zoo,” said Hudson.

Pin arrived at the zoo 33 years ago, although zoo officials believed he was at least 35 years old. The bird was one of four vultures in the zoo. The zoo reported that there were two males and one female left. This vulture species is native to Africa and parts of the Middle East.

The zoo said the birds are part of a "small, very rapidly declining population" and the International Union for Conservation of Nature believes they are approaching "endangered".

Harrison Edell is the Zoo's Vice President of Animal Care and Conservation. He said that Ping was everyone's favorite.

“We are also very concerned about the idea that someone could have done this on purpose,” Edell said.

This is the third animal incident at the Dallas Zoo in the past two weeks.

Just over a week ago, the zoo closed after a clouded leopard named Nova went missing on the morning of January 13. Later in the afternoon, she was found safe near her original habitat, but police said the fence of her enclosure had been deliberately damaged. It was later discovered that the habitat of the langur monkeys had also been tampered with.

The zoo said it added more cameras and night patrols following Nova's disappearance to ensure the safety of animals and staff.

Dallas Mayor Caroline King Arnold said on Jan. 23 officials are trying to protect not only those at the zoo, but those living in nearby areas.

“People have a hard time understanding what it means to lose a loved one. People work day in and day out with residents - I call them residents - a family of animals. This is a very, very serious problem. So we will do everything to avoid losses,” Arnold said.
