Halloween lawn scandal in Ohio
Tied to the trees, crucified, slaughtered, and bloodied figures flooded the lawn near a private house in Parma, Ohio. Dressed in a modern style, they look eerily realistic - to the point that pupils of a nearby elementary school are afraid to pass through the courtyard.
Outraged parents of schoolchildren sent photos of the exhibition to the local council demanding to remove the figures. While for a homeowner, this is just innocent entertainment for Halloween, for children - a possible psychological trauma for life.
However, local authorities refused to dismantle the exhibition, citing freedom of expression.
The exhibition's initiator Vicki Barrett, in an interview with journalists, spoke out in defense of her creation: “We didn’t want to scare the children, we just thought to have some fun on Halloween, to have fun, without any malicious intent. If the children are really afraid, we may remove the figures. ”
