Nina Alovert presented unique photos of Russian artists

Photographer and critic Nina Alovert presented unique photos of ballet and theater actors at an exhibition in New York.

At the exhibition “The Beautiful Features of My Friends,” which took place on Friday evening, one could see about twenty photographs and portraits of Mikhail Baryshnikov, Alisa Freundlich, Vladimir Malakhov, Sergei Yursky and others.

Some of the photos were first presented to the public.

Nina Alovert knew all the heroes of her work and knows it personally, calls her friends. The friendship of the photographer and the actors began long before her emigration to the United States in 1977, and continued afterwards. During the exposition, Nina Alovert personally commented on the presented photos of the young Baryshnikov, choreographer Boris Eifman, Sergey Dovlatov.

She told about the beginning of her career, her long-term friendship with Baryshnikov, her love for Jurassic talent, about people who helped her in her life and career.

“It was fate that I met many interesting people in my life,” Alovert said. “I worked with many of them, and was friends with many of them for many years. Why this happened, I can’t say, it’s a question for fate.”
