As a result of the fall of a construction crane in the central New York area of Manhattan, ten people were injured. This was reported on Sunday by representatives of the fire department of the largest metropolis of the United States.
The condition of all affected is assessed as stable.
Also, several high-rise buildings were damaged, a hole with a diameter of several meters was formed in the facade of one of them.
The incident occurred near the central station of New York and the famous 102-storeyed skyscraper Empire State Building.
According to preliminary data, just before the fall of the crane, the workers lifted the air conditioning unit weighing about 4 tons to the upper tiers of one of the buildings with it. One of the cables holding the load broke. Installation fell on the car in which there was a man.
Firefighters are currently inspecting nearby buildings.
