In 2019, the United States will increase aid to Ukraine by $ 75 million
The US Congress proposes to increase by $ 75 million the amount of aid provided for Ukraine in 2019. This is reported by the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States on its page in Facebook.
We are talking about the amount stipulated by the draft law, which was agreed by the Senate and the House of Representatives (the Law of the State Department on allocations, foreign operations and related programs for the 2019 fiscal year), writes New Time.
According to this document, the total amount of funds to support Ukraine in the 2019 budget year should be $695,7 million, taking into account the $250 million previously allocated for this purpose to the Pentagon. This is $75 million more than the 2018 appropriation.
In particular, the estimate of assistance to Ukraine through the United States Foreign Office, the United States Agency for International Development and the relevant agencies was determined in the amount of $ 445,7 million, which is $ 25 million more than the corresponding appropriation of the year.
In addition, the Embassy of Ukraine to the United States explains, the legislative possibility of allocating funds for the provision of credit guarantees to Ukraine is also assumed.
Earlier, the US Senate adopted bill on financing a number of ministries until September of this year in order to avoid a new shutdown - suspension of government work. The House of Representatives also approved the bill. In order to avoid another shutdown, Trump must sign the budget before midnight on February 15.
A spokeswoman for the White House, Sarah Sanders, said yesterday that in addition to signing the document, Trump will also declare a state of emergency in the country and will try to get money to build the border wall between the United States and Mexico from other parts of the federal budget.
