Greek singer Demis Roussos died. The musician died on the night of January 25 on the 69 year of life, reports Le Figaro with reference to the daughter of a musician. The cause of death is still unknown.
12 March 2015 was to be performed by Roussos in Moscow, timed to coincide with the 50 anniversary of his creative endeavors.
Demis Roussos (Artomios Venthouris Roussos) was born 15 June 1946 in the city of Alexandria (Egypt), in a musical family of immigrants from Greece. Demis' mother was a singer, and her father played classical guitar. The family of Demis moved to their historic homeland in the 1950s. At the beginning of the 1960-s, Russos founded the ensemble “Aphrodite's Child”, performing art rock. The group became known not only in Greece, but throughout Europe. At the end of 1970's, the owner of a uniquely high tenor is actively involved in solo projects and writes down his most famous songs: Rain and tears, Goodbye my love, Souvenirs. In 1980, Russos gave 150 concerts a year.
