Ukraine is counting on an open sky with Canada, the United States and China

Ukraine expects to sign “open skies” agreements with the United States, Canada and the People's Republic of China.

“A letter has been sent to the Chinese aviation authorities with a proposal to sign an open skies treaty with China. So far the Chinese side has not confirmed its desire, but with the help of our contacts with the Chinese aviation authorities we will work on this issue. If we are opening up western development, then it would be logical to work with it to the east,” said the head of the State Aviation Service of Ukraine. “If we talk about what else we are working on in the same direction, then at the final stage is an open skies agreement with the United States . We hope for June-July and expect to sign. We also sent a proposal to sign an open skies treaty with Canada.”

The document will guarantee access to the Ukrainian market of European low-cost companies, as well as the right of Ukrainian and European companies to operate flights between Ukraine and the EU countries without interstate coordination of routes.
