US can officially recognize the Golan Heights as part of Israel
US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman admitted that the United States could officially recognize Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights seized from Syria during the 1967 war of the year.

So Israel will reserve the right to this plateau forever, writes “Voice of America".
Such a statement by Friedman can be seen as a clear hint of Washington’s support for Israel’s claims on this strategic plateau.
At the moment, foreign governments, including the United States, do not officially recognize Israel’s claims to this territory.
However, Friedman suggested that Israel would keep it, and allowed the United States to consider recognizing Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights in the future.
“Personally, I cannot imagine a situation in which the Golan Heights will be returned to Syria. Frankly, I cannot imagine a situation in which the Golan Heights will not remain a part of Israel forever, ”he said.
According to Friedman, Syrian President Bashar Asad "less than anyone deserves such a reward," as control over the Golan Heights.
Answering the question whether the administration of Donald Trump could in the future consider recognizing Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan, Friedman said: “Yes, it is definitely possible. It could definitely happen. ”
